Sex Scenes in a Young Adult Book

Do you think they should be there?  My writing is really aimed at 13 - 17 years, so its kind of a grey area.  So far my main characters aren't at that stage, but a couple of the secondary characters are. Mainly I've only eluded to the fact it happened.

Would you as a reader want more detail or are you happy just to get the suggestion?
